Welcome to The Inverloch Jazz Festival 2009

2009 marks the 16th year of the Inverloch Jazz Festival. More than 3000 visitors will converge on Inverloch on the Labour Day weekend (March 6–9) to listen to top class jazz from big band and traditional, to mainstream and a wide range of other styles. With its convenient proximity to Melbourne, the Inverloch Jazz Festival attracts many visitors for the long weekend as well as a significant number of day and overnight visitors. Many others journey from across Victoria and the other states for the fabulous jazz.
The 2009 festival will feature around 80 bands in four ticketed venues with a total of around 40 hours of programmed music over 4 days. The program this year will again feature the Pippa Wilson Festival Band, Patsy O’Neal Quintet, Anita Harris Quintet, Graeme Steel and Alex Hutchinson Quintet, plus many new faces.
The festival will be officially opened by the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser on Friday night. The community street parade on Saturday morning (10am) sets the mood for the remainder of the festival, the theme for this year being orange, black and white. The festival concludes on the Labour Day holiday with a Jazz Picnic in the Glade on the Inverloch foreshore.
The Inverloch Jazz Festival is a community based, not for profit, volunteer managed annual event. Any surplus that may eventuate from the running of the festival is redirected to other deserving community groups and charities within the Bass Coast Shire. A full weekend pass costs $65, day passes Saturday and Sunday $30, and Friday night $20.
